Wings of Wonder, a seasonal Butterfly House, opened August 6th 2022 at the Gardens! This 1,800 sq. ft. structure houses 400 to 500 native butterflies and will be open to Garden visitors seasonally from April thru October each year. WoW was made possible thanks to a generous gift from William and Carroll Flowers, along with important contributions from Dothan Awning Company, Wiregrass Master Gardeners, Lewis-Smith Supply, Dan Williams, and Mark Shertzer
Featured butterflies include the Monarch, Eastern Black Swallowtail, Red Admiral, Zebra Longwing, Painted Lady, Common Buckeye, Gulf Fritillary and more. Inside, visitors experience a complete butterfly habitat with nectar plants to feed the adult butterflies, as well as host plants for caterpillars and butterfly eggs.
Entrance to the Butterfly House is timed, with tickets available at our admissions desk. Tickets are sold from 10am-3:30pm every day of the week. The butterfly house is closed for lunch from 12-1pm.
DABG members receive free admission to Wings of Wonder. For non-members there is an admission fee for the Gardens and an additional fee of $3 for the Wings of Wonder Butterfly house.
Schools and organizations wishing to reserve a day and time to visit should call the office or fill out a request form on the DABG homepage.
